Designed specifically for Brinkmann turntables, the RöNt III power supply is a very special product in that it is the flagship of the unique "Rectifier Tube Simulator" technology, which allows for increased performance and long-term reliability. Like all Brinkmann products, the RöNt is an evolutionary design that has been refined over more than 25 years of market presence. Commercialised in 1995, the original RöNt was the result of Helmut Brinkman's experimentation with vacuum tubes at every point in the musical signal path, which resulted in the discovery that the vacuum in the rectifier tubes not only isolates their plates from their cathodes but also the power supply line from the attack circuitry, thereby improving the sound of the Brinkmann turntables in terms of clarity, transparency and dimensionality. As time went on, the supply of high quality rectifier tubes was seriously compromised, the solution being the innovative "Rectifier Tube Simulator", created by Helmunt Brinkmann and named "BZ34" after the 5AR4/GZ34 used in the RöNt II. The starting point for the development of the BZ34 was the Mullard GZ34 NOS (New, Old Stock) valve used in the RöNt, which was very rare and expensive and therefore unsuitable for use in a component intended for mass production. What the BZ34 does is precisely to emulate, using extremely complex circuitry, the function and sound of the aforementioned Mullard GZ34 NOS while avoiding its weak points, the result being to maintain the sound performance for decades.
