Everyone has their favorite old vinyl record that has become damaged over time, is very noisy, and is probably no longer available to buy a new one. Sure, slight noise and clicks are part of the vinyl experience, but at some point, at excessive levels, it becomes unpleasant and your favorite record may sit on your shelf for the rest of your life. The solution is called Vinyl NRS Box S3.
Connect the output of your phono preamp to the Vinyl NRS Box S3. First, the line signal is digitized with a depth of 24 bits and a sampling rate of 96 kHz. If the input is too high, the overflow LED will show you this. You can then activate the -6 dB switch and the gain will improve the result. The real magic happens in the digital domain.
The signal is filtered so as not to interfere with the processing itself. High-frequency components are used as a marker for crackles. The dedicated algorithm can now detect these peaks. You can easily adjust
the sensitivity with the front potentiometer. The LED gives you instant information about the process. Crackling parts can be reduced by up to 8 dB, which is a huge improvement to the listening experience. If you do not want to use the De-Crackling function, simply turn the potentiometer all the way to the left and the algorithm will be in bypass.
The signal is first separated into two frequency bands and then fed to two expanders, which increase and improve the signal-to-noise ratio. There are no audible noise modulations using this technique! We are capable of reducing noise by up to 8 dB.
The Vinyl NRS Box S3 connects between your phono preamp and your preamp or integrated amplifier. If you turn it on, the Vinyl NRS Box S3 activates immediately. If you don't want it in your signal path, simply turn it off and the device is bypassed and the inputs are galvanically connected to the outputs.
There are two De-Crackling intensity algorithms available: the basic one processes the signal very lightly; the advanced one is stronger with heavier processing. Always try the basic settings first and adjust the intensity with the potentiometer. By pressing the "Intensity" button you can activate advanced mode if desired and/or necessary. The LED shows you if clicks and crackles are reduced. If you are happy with the De-Crackling setting, but can still hear a lot of noise, you can now activate the Vinyl Noise Reduction feature by pressing the VNRS button. There is only one preset for the vinyl noise reduction feature and it cannot be customized in the same way that you can adjust noise reduction.
