Based on the celebrated DS1 model – which won one of the coveted What Hi-Fi? Awards - and contrary to the vast majority of Bluetooth speakers available on the market, the DS2 is a system made up of two 'master-slave' speakers with genuinely Hi-Fi performance, whose extraordinarily small dimensions allow them to be taken anywhere. As always in Wharfedale , the acoustic part is very careful, highlighting a mid/bass speaker with a cone of intertwined polypropylene fibers, which has been chosen for the ideal combination of lightness, rigidity and low coloration that it offers. The speaker is protected by a specially designed metal grille, while a rear-firing bass-reflex port strengthens the response at the lower frequencies of the spectrum to provide bass with surprising depth and punch for such a compact speaker. Inside the 'master' speaker we find recently developed digital amplification electronics that deliver 2 x 15 continuous watts, to which we must add connectivity that combines the versatile Bluetooth aptX wireless transmission and a stereo analogue input.
