Each CRBN2 is hand-assembled and tested in California by electrostatic specialists to the highest quality finish.
CRBN2s require an amplifier with electrostatic output using 580VDC bias, also known as "Stax Pro Bias". Several suitable amplifiers on the market, of various brands, will work well with CRBN2.
CRBN2 is based on a project to manufacture headphones for use in MRI machines, between Audeze and a team from the UCLA School of Medicine. Because of the powerful magnetic fields of an MRI, the headphones could not use ferrous metals, so the researchers developed the carbon nanotube film electrostatic driver.
