With a very attractive design and a scratch-resistant finish, the Sanctum is a sophisticated base born out of the need to solve a challenge: the suppression of vibrations that can adversely affect the reproduction of audio signals, vibrations that are present in virtually any component that is part of a Hi-Fi system. Specifically, the Sactum has been carefully machined in five places: four recesses (one in each corner) and a central circular hole designed to eliminate any possible standing waves present in the platform itself. In terms of engineering, Blue Horizon's new base exhibits a high level of sophistication, as reflected in the structure of the insulating feet in each of the recesses mentioned above. The complexly structured feet are composed of three key materials: firstly, a highly compact random mix of cork, rubber and leather to break down potential resonances; secondly, a viscoelastic polymer that combines high shock absorption with high vibration isolation; thirdly and finally, a precision-machined aluminium cone. To all this must be added the presence, in the assembly made up of each foot, of an outer ring that allows the Sactum to float freely on its feet when it is in its final position.
