The smallest of the EPICON family, it produces astonishingly large, precise and three-dimensional sound that will impress even the most rigorous demands of true audiophiles. The two-channel speaker features a 6½ woofer and a silk dome cone tweeter. In fact, the technological advances designed for the larger EPICON 6 and EPICON 8 have been channeled into EPICON 2 to create a speaker that reaches far beyond visual expectations for its size. The speaker demonstrates a very linear and coherent response and integrates well with small to medium-sized rooms. The woofer extension can reach slow speeds and thus reach deep into the lower frequencies. All in all, in most configurations the result will become a sound image of a speaker much larger than what it really is. Each side of the EPICON 2 is constructed from 6 individual layers of MDF, all glued together. In the EPICON 2 these are anchored to the main 53 mm multi-layer MDF structure of the casing. CNC milling process is applied to manufacture the recess and holes for the bass ports and terminals on the rear chassis. With a 33mm thick double layer front baffle, it ensures that the energy from the drivers is radiated in the form of acoustic energy, and not as vibrations in the box. The curved shape of the front baffle is also a contributing factor in ensuring a stable acoustic platform.
