The fourth generation of a super-classic bookshelf monitor from Sonus Faber that first saw the light of day exactly 30 years ago, the Concertino G4 is a beautifully crafted loudspeaker that reflects like few others the accumulated legacy of the prestigious Italian company's pursuit of excellence in materials, design, technological innovation and musicality.
With a 2-way/2-speaker bass-reflex configuration (with walnut rear port) and building on the success of the previous Concertino generations, the "G4" takes advantage of the lessons learned in pure and applied acoustic research over the last three decades to propose a simple yet extraordinarily profound product.
To achieve this goal, its creators have blended high-level engineering with the timeless principles of Natural Sound and quality craftsmanship, while using a plant-based alternative to leather, developed by the Italian startup Ohoskin, complemented by a sharp reduction in the amount of unsustainable materials.
In parallel, and in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Concertino, the Arcugnano-based company has developed a special limited edition of the Concertino G4 "Maestro" (300 pairs worldwide), which includes a commemorative brass plaque with progressive numbering mounted on one of the solid walnut side panels.
Created in the manner of the artisan workshops of Medieval and Renaissance Italy, this exclusive edition celebrates the transalpine country's tradition of audio excellence to the point of materialising the meaning of the term "maestro" in today's context.
