The CD Box DS2 is a digital source designed to offer the sound quality of the most exclusive CD players through the use of latest generation D/A converters, selected components and highly sophisticated transport mechanics, all for an extremely competitive price. . The starting point of the new Pro-Ject is a slot-loading transport block, optimized specifically for 1:1 playback of the Red Book CDDA standard, that is, stereophonic compact discs, to which is added a “chip” of AK4490 D/A conversion from the renowned Japanese firm Asahi Kasei Microdevices, a sophisticated piece of microelectronic engineering used by some of the most elite brands on the world audiophile scene as a result of its extraordinary sound performance. The aforementioned “chip” is complemented by a total of seven digital filtering options, which allow the user to adapt the sound of the CD Box DS2 to their preferences with unrivaled flexibility. As far as connectivity is concerned, the new Pro-Ject digital source includes a total of four digital inputs that allow it to be used as an independent digital audio processor, to which are added two digital outputs to send any compatible digital signal to another DAC, and a line-level output equipped with RCA connectors for easy connection to an integrated amplifier or preamplifier.
