A very complete stereo digital source intended for the most demanding, thanks to an exquisite combination of technology and manufacturing quality that draws on McIntosh 's unique experience in the exceptional home audio market.
Compatible with CD's, SACD's, data DVD's and digital files stored on USB flash drives, the MCD600 incorporates sophisticated digital circuitry featuring an audiophile grade D/A conversion “chip” with 32-bit technology, whose 8 channels have been configured in the exclusive Quad Balanced architecture with the aim of maximizing parameters such as the linearity of the frequency response curve, the signal-to-noise ratio, the separation between channels and the dynamic range, while minimizing distortion.
The MCD600 can also play digital files encoded in popular formats such as AAC, AIFF, ALAC, DSD (up to DSD128), FLAC, MP3, WAV (up to 24-bit/192kHz) and WMA, at the same time. time it includes coaxial and optical digital inputs and outputs, a front USB input and fixed and variable level analog outputs, the latter in both balanced and unbalanced modes.
Another key element of this refined digital stereo source is its transport mechanics, which highlights the use of a high-precision cast aluminum tray that, in combination with advanced digital servo control, ensures extremely fast and silent operation. In addition, the data contained on the disk is read at twice the normal speed in order to improve data tracking and error correction.
The MCD600 comes complete with one of McIntosh 's exclusive dedicated High Drive dedicated headphone amplifiers, one of the American firm's iconic treated glass front panels, and top-notch construction.
