Dali Phantom S-280 flush-mount speakers offer state-of-the-art reproduction for custom installations - without sacrificing valuable usable room space. With the use of proven sound technology, such as Dali's signature wood fibre cones, low-loss rubber damping, solid MDF front baffle and superior magnet design - coupled with the Danish firm's latest innovations including SMC's polarised part and the authentic and unique hybrid tweeter module - it delivers audio reproduction previously unheard of. The two 8" primary woofers are optimised to handle both bass and midrange, and to enhance the lower sounds, Dali has paired them with two 10" passive woofers. This provides a full frequency response equivalent to that of a tower speaker, ensuring that the Phantom S-280 stands out from the crowd. The ultra-thin enclosure design is compatible with virtually any standard wall. All models are built around a rotatable hybrid tweeter module, making it easy to install for any type of audio enjoyment - be it stereo, centre channel or surround. The housing is made of solid MDF that supports the bolt mounting system and terminals. The MDF rear chamber is completely wrapped in a high quality black vinyl to complete the look of the painted front baffle. The entire enclosure has been designed to be thin, but solid enough to avoid resonance. The Phantom S-280 rotary hybrid tweeter module is the perfect high frequency solution. Dali has a long tradition of using hybrid tweeter modules, which combine a soft dome tweeter with a ribbon tweeter. This ensures an impressive high-frequency performance and a treble dispersion that surpasses any other tweeter technology. The two 8" primary woofers have been designed and developed specifically for the Phantom S-280 and optimised for bass and midrange reproduction. The SMC magnetic system developed for the Epicon range was chosen as the core of this woofer for its unique ability to drastically reduce distortion. To ensure the best possible bass reproduction from the Phantom S-280, Dali has integrated two 10" passive bass reflex woofers - based on the passive radiator of the high-end Dali Sub P-10 DSS subwoofer.
