A version of the D8000 DC tuned specifically to suit the characteristics of the human hearing system (where bass becomes more prominent as the volume level increases), the D8000 DC Pro Edition (DC stands for "Da Capo", a musical term meaning "from the ground up") is an absolute reference "planar" circumaural headphone defined by its creators as "the fruit of a complete reimagining of our flagship with a fresh and innovative approach".
Thus, the planar magnetic transducer equipped with the unique Air Film Damping System (AFDS) technology (which controls transducer movement through air viscosity) has undergone an extensive upgrade process to achieve superior transient response and lower distortion, thus enhancing tonal quality and resolution.
As for the ear cushions, which play a major role in sound quality, they feature a specially developed fabric using washi paper for a dry feel and increased durability, as well as a spongy material to maximise breathability.
In addition, the thickness of the ear cushions is 1.5 times thicker compared to the previous model, providing a larger acoustic space, resulting in a wider soundstage and smoother voice reproduction and overall sound presentation.
