Based on a temperature-controlled quartz crystal (OCXO) developed entirely by Esoteric, the G-02X is a very high-performance sync clock that also adopts elements from the fabulous Grandioso G1 to offer excellent clock frequency accuracy (+/-0.01 ppm) and reduced phase noise compared to the previous model (3 dB to be exact).
Like its big brother, the G-02X includes several "Wide Range Clock Buffer Amplifiers" for each output line to maximise both sound quality and the accuracy and stability of the sync signal. The "Adaptive Zero Ground" mode actively brings the ground signal value down to 0 volts to substantially reduce noise ("random jitter") caused by variations in the ground voltage.
As a very high-performance audio component, the G-02X houses an opulent power supply with two power transformers (a toroidal main transformer and an EI transformer for the digital control section) complemented by a powerful array of filter capacitors and Shottky barrier diodes, the latter to maximise the speed of the digital processing. Like the G-01X , the G-02X can supply a sync signal to a maximum of eight components, including a pre-heat function for the quartz oscillator. All this is complemented by an all-metal, anti-resonant construction with exceptional machining.
