At the heart of the MCD12000 are two ESS Technology SABRE PRO ES9038PRO 32-bit 8-channel D/A conversion chips, each equipped with ESS Technology's unique HyperStream and Time Domain Kitter Eliminator technologies.
But the key to the configuration used in the digital section of the MCD12000 is the operation of each of these chips in the so-called balanced eight-phono mono mode, which uses all eight of its outputs to generate the analogue audio signal.
Separate power supplies for the digital and analogue subsystems prevent cross-contamination between the power and audio signals, while a custom-made R-Core transformer minimises magnetic stray scattering and thus background noise.
On the analogue side, the MCD12000 includes balanced and unbalanced outputs in both solid state and tube modes, giving the user exceptional flexibility in tailoring the sound to suit their tastes and the specifics of their equipment.
