The MDA200 is a refined new product developed by the legendary US firm McIntosh to add the best digital sound to any existing music reproduction system or as an upgrade to a digital audio processor (DAC) that needs to be updated with the latest technology and functionality.
At the heart of the MDA200 is McIntosh's renowned DA2 Digital Audio Module, featuring an 8-channel D/A conversion chip with 32-bit technology configured in the effective "Quad Balanced" scheme, a sophisticated audiophile-grade component that maximises dynamic range and minimises total harmonic distortion.
In addition to including a total of 7 digital inputs, including an MCT-type input for connection to compatible SACD transport mechanics McIntosh, the DA2 also incorporates an audio-only HDMI compatible ARC (Audio Return Channel) for redefining the sound quality of TV programmes (with stereo conversion of multi-channel programmes recorded in Dolby or DTS) from compatible TV sets.
The MDA200, which can be controlled from a handy remote control, comes complete with one of the New York brand's iconic black glass panels and unmistakable blue backlit level indicators.
