Musical Fidelity 's new flagship digital audio processor, the Nu-Vista DAC is a spectacular, absolute reference electronics built around ESS Technology's renowned 32-bit HyperStream D/A conversion scheme.
Added to this, as its name indicates, is the famous Nuvistor tube circuitry from the British firm, materialised in the presence of a fully balanced stage of Nuvistor 7586 triodes in each channel, integrated into a buffer amplifier configured in Class A and executed entirely with discrete components.
The DAC section of Musical Fidelity 's new digital "superprocessor" also offers the optional ability to resample and resynchronize the signal, as well as to avoid oversampling and perform digital filtering and MQA processing, all of which are handled by powerful 16-core processors from the American firm Altera.
As far as the analogue side of the Nu-Vista DAC is concerned, the first thing to note is the aforementioned use of Nuvistor tubes, unique in the audio industry and which, in combination with an opulent power supply featuring one of the exclusive “Super Silent” encapsulated toroidal transformers, enables the Musical Fidelity to deliver a fabulously silky and dynamic sound.
