STAX is a company founded in 1938. In 1959 it developed the world's first electrostatic headphones and introduced the SR-1 in 1960. Today, STAX continues its legacy by offering the most sophisticated headphones for both professional and audiophile use.
STAX calls its headphones Earspeakers, or in Spanish, Ear Speakers. They have been named this way because of their Ultra Hi-Fi when playing music, which can only be compared with the quality of speakers, more than with other headphones.
Once they start in the world of electrostatics, few go back.
The entire semiconductor transistor unit is dual low-noise FET in the first stage and, for the first time in STAX, the second stage features J-FET. The J-FET output is perfect for noise-free amplification and has a large current circuit that allows the headphones to shine to their full potential.
