Prestige X is the latest version of the renowned Grado Prestige headphone range. It features a new 38 ohm driver for an even more rounded sound, specifically designed for the latest version of the entry-level range from Grado Labs.
The improved speaker design of the X Series features a new magnetic circuit that has been optimised to improve overall efficiency. Coupled with a new voice coil and diaphragm design, distortion is minimised while enhancing harmonic integrity. As a result, the new Prestige Series is easier to move around portable devices and delivers the best possible audio quality.
GRADO Labs has developed its proprietary SpaceBlack Polycarbonate that absorbs unwanted acoustic vibrations. Those secondary impulses can muddy the sound, and the Brooklyn-based company aims for pure sound in its entry-level headphones as well. The SR125x use an oxygen-free copper voice coil and ultra-high purity long crystal and 8-conductor cable.
Put the SR125x on if you want space, a quiet bottom end, black aesthetics and the only "farang" you want near your ear is the artist Muddy Waters.
In addition, they are equipped with an 8-conductor, fabric-covered copper cable. This preserves the purity of the signal while making the cable durable, flexible and tangle-free. Another optimisation has been made to the headband, which is now covered with vegan protein with a leather-like feel, and so tough that it will not be affected by contact with hair products, such as waxes or hair gel.
