Rotel RA-6000 + DT-6000

A high-end hi-fi set from Rotel, created in commemoration of their 60th anniversary, consisting of the RA-6000 integrated amplifier with DAC and DT-6000 CD transport, made for each other.

The RA-6000 is exquisite electronics that provides an uncompromising audio processing solution while offering the convenience of a high-powered integrated amplifier.

In its development, engineers at Rotel utilised many of the technologies first incorporated in the company's elite Michi Series, as well as design methods from the recently released MKII models.

Thus, design strategies for power supply isolation (featuring an opulent toroidal transformer) have been implemented to reduce both background noise and residual noise.

In addition, optimisation of the signal path has provided extra isolation of the low current and high gain circuitry to reduce parasitic emissions, thereby improving transparency and sound contrast.

An extensive range of inputs, configuration options, features and output connectors ensure full compatibility with analogue and digital sources. Thus, the optical (3) and coaxial (3) digital outputs support 24-bit/192 kHz audio streams, while the asynchronous PC-USB connection is compatible with audio files up to 32-bit/384 kHz and supports MQA file rendering.

Defined as a "CD transport block with integrated DAC", the DT-6000 stands out first and foremost for the extremely smooth and quiet operation of its CD transport block, which can also read MP3-encoded recordings.

Even more important is the D/A conversion section, which is centred on an ESS Sabre ES9028PRO "chip" as a result of extensive listening sessions. This DAC uses an 8-channel configuration which in the DT-6000 has been modified to dedicate 4 of these channels to each of its 2 stereo channels.

The redundancy in the digital processing of the digital data through balanced circuitry and the use of a dedicated toroidal transformer ensure that the subtleties of the music are transcribed with unprecedented clarity.

The asynchronous PC-USB input allows MQA files to be rendered and supports PCM files up to 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD up to DSD256, while the coaxial and optical digital inputs support signals up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
