Monitor Audio has been leading the way in metal cone technology for transducers for over 40 years. The new Gold Series 6G features an entirely new metal cone technology in the form of HDT (Hexagonal Diaphragm Technology). HDT is based on the RDT III cone design used in the Hyphn and Platinum Series, consisting of a Nomex honeycomb layer sandwiched between aluminum and carbon fiber skins. The new HDT cone employs a hexagonal pattern to break up the symmetries in the cone breakup.
The result of an exhaustive development process to refine and achieve even greater performance, the latest generation of Monitor Monitor Audio ’s MPD III (Micro-Folded Diaphragm) transducer delivers extremely accurate highs with greater consistency, clarity and definition. The level of detail achieved makes music sound natural, clear and real. Tuned for effortless musicality.
Thanks to a new Finite Element Method (FEA)-optimized C-CAM HDT cone with peripheral suspension and internal (“spider”) suspension and a longer voice coil, the new Gold Series 6G bass drivers exhibit improved linearity and lower distortion for a cleaner, punchier low end. Rigidly held in place by a newly designed, lightweight cast aluminum chassis, it provides the optimal structure for maximum airflow around the driver.
The Gold Series 6G crossovers have been developed using high-quality capacitors and have been subjected to hundreds of hours of listening by Monitor Audio 's acoustic design team. Many iterations have been repeatedly tested to ensure that each transducer receives the smoothest, cleanest audio signal possible.
All Gold Series 6G enclosures are designed to form the most rigid structure possible, allowing the drivers to perform to their full potential. Together with intelligently calculated geometry, advanced bracing techniques and extremely precise crossover filters, the enclosures are a key element of the overall system under Monitor Audio ’s Transparent Design Philosophy.
Completed in a beautiful, contemporary gloss finish, painted and featuring a new, more sustainable artificial wood veneer, it offers a significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional real wood veneer production methods. The Gold 100 6G is a powerful stand-mount speaker. Extremely powerful, it creates an astonishing soundstage, is capable of reproducing deep, extended bass and exhibits beautiful, natural definition in the midrange and highs. Its configuration includes the latest version of the MPD III tweeter, a new 3-inch (76 mm) midrange driver and a powerful 8-inch (203 mm) woofer, both benefiting from the new C-CAM HDT cone technology and extraordinarily powerful magnetic motors. The Gold 100 6G delivers outstanding Hi-Fi sound levels with consummate ease.
