The unmistakable aesthetic of the hybrid designs of the Kansas firm, with one of its exclusive curvilinear CLS electrostatic panels supported by a subwoofer equipped with classic electrodynamic speakers, constitutes the letter of presentation of the Renaissance ESL 15A, an elegant hybrid acoustic screen, full of innovations, which aims to establish a new standard in the integration of very high-performance loudspeakers in domestic spaces. Along with a 381 (15') wide electrostatic transducer, the Renaissance ESL 15A includes a very modest bass enclosure that houses two 305 mm (12') diameter aluminum cone woofers, mounted in separate chambers and managed by Martin Logan 's exclusive PoweredForce Forward Bass alignment technology. This controls the interaction between the rear woofer and the wall immediately behind it in order to uniform the frequency response of the system in any room. Another key innovation is the presence of the exclusive and advanced Anthem Room Correction (ARC) room correction scheme, which measures the acoustic signal present in the room and compares it with optimal response curves that take into account possible spatial anomalies.
Of the new hybrid acoustic screen from Martin Logan we must also highlight the redesign of the perforated metal structure with AirFrame technology exclusive to the brand. The latter, in addition to not obstructing the emissive surface or interfering with the dipolar radiation pattern of the electrostatic panel, provides a high level of electrical and acoustic insulation, minimizing intermodulation distortion caused by vibrations and resonances. On the other hand, the Renaissance ESL 15A combines 500 watts continuous Class D amplification electronics with a Vojtko digital signal processing (DSP) scheme that allows it to deliver overwhelming dynamic impact and higher efficiency than ever. When it comes to the critical crossover filter, the new Martin Logan includes one of the brand's sophisticated Vojtko topology circuitry, executed and tuned by hand, which manages to drastically reduce distortion and preserve both the most delicate harmonic subtleties like the most brutal dynamic contrasts.
