The top-of-the-range model in the Aura Series is a stylish 3-way/4-speaker bass-reflex column designed to bring the qualities for which Wharfedale's flagship Elysian range is renowned to a wider audience.
This is why it includes such highly prized technical refinements as an AMT tweeter transducer, midrange and bass speakers with a matrix cone structure, the innovative SLLP "perimetric" bass-reflex port and an enclosure with an immaculately finished multi-layer construction. The AMT ("Air Motion Transformer"), unlike conventional dome or other "planar"/ribbon designs, moves the air in a very different way by using a very low-mass, large folded diaphragm that allows for substantially improved definition and transient response.
The Aura 4 is completed by an enclosure constructed with panels made up of multiple layers of different woods following the PROS ("Panel Resonance Optimisation System") scheme, which prevents internal vibrations from being transmitted to the speakers and interfering, by colouring it, with the sound emitted by the speakers.
