Superlative in all aspects, but, above all, refined and exquisite as befits a product that takes the concept of Italian design and luxury to its highest expression, the Suprema is a spectacular 2.2 configuration speaker system, which means that it is made up of a full-range main speaker and a dedicated subwoofer per channel, the whole being managed by a sophisticated active crossover filter.
In keeping with what you would expect from a product designed and built without compromise, the Suprema houses a unique conglomerate of technology and the legacy of a unique company. This philosophy is immediately palpable in the visual aspect of the enclosures, as the iconic lute format used for the first time by Sonus Faber in its legendary Guarneri model (1993) is used in the main cases, while in the case of the subwoofer radiators, the elliptical geometry used in another legendary development of the brand, the Stradivari column (2004), has been chosen.
Entering into the structure of each functional block, let us point out that each of the main boxes is materialized in a 4.5-way configuration made up of 4 woofers with a treated paper pulp cone and double air gap (to guarantee symmetry in the strength of the magnetic motor and minimize distortion), 1 “midwoofer”, 1 Camelia midrange speaker, 1 “midtweeter” and 1 supertweeter, to which must be added a 2-way rear block called SDA (“Sound Deep Adjustment”), which It aims to improve the soundstage and dispersion.
Needless to say, the management of such a complex combination has been the subject of maximum attention by the creators of the Suprema, combining circuitry that reflects the most advanced solutions of the transalpine company in the matter (IFF technology, Paracross topology, Phase Coherent design). with an electronics with a double monophonic and completely balanced structure, located in an elegant independent enclosure that is responsible for managing the integration between the “full range” and subwoofer blocks.
