MAT is a highly complex labyrinth-like structure that absorbs 99% of unwanted noise from the rear of the driver, eliminating the resulting distortion and delivering a purer, more natural sound.
Hybrid aluminum bass drivers with increased driver excursion for tight, deep and controlados.Los bass. R-series bass drivers have a two-part structure with a shallow, concave aluminum skin over a paper cone. This rigidity, combined with the unique geometry of the cone, achieves piston-like motion for power and speed. The drivers' magnetic system creates a wide, uniform magnetic field that results in more impressive and punchy bass.

We only want to hear the drivers, not the resonances or turbulence created by a bass port. R Series ports have innovative flexible walls. Using computational fluid dynamics, the flare and profile of each port are calculated to delay the onset of turbulence, and the flexible port walls prevent resonances from coloring the midrange.
Driven solely by acoustics, KEF believe there is a certain beauty even in internal engineering fixings. The R Meta Series has been created to be beautiful on the outside, and these finely tuned mechanisms are protected behind a minimalist exterior designed to fit seamlessly and elegantly into any interior scheme, whether traditional, modern or contemporary.
The R Meta series has been designed to perform at its best with or without grilles. A microfiber design with 1081 holes provides greater aesthetic presence without affecting the sound. Made by hand and hot-pressed from thirteen layers of composite material, their finishes maintain the aesthetics of each box: gray for the white enclosure, brown for the walnut, and dark for the black. And to top it off the edges of the grilles have been burnished in a manner similar to fine leather goods so the overall effect is very similar to elegant suede.
