Astell&Kern and Campfire Audio take innovation to a new level by combining their advanced technologies and designs to create a product worthy of the Pathfinder name.

To make it a reality, they repeatedly tested numerous designs to produce a different structure from existing in-ear headphones and added an innovative dual-diaphragm balanced armature driver, finally achieving the best sound.

Each unit is designed and assembled by hand in Portland, Oregon. With a small team of highly qualified craftsmen, continually experimenting with materials and techniques, we have managed to create in-ear headphones unsurpassed in performance and finish.

The Pathfinders feature a new dual-diaphragm balanced armature driver for the key part of the midrange, two BA drivers for the high frequencies, as well as two dynamic drivers with hybrid diaphragms that create the bass and midrange.

A radially vented acoustic chamber, newly developed by Campfire Audio, is applied to the two custom 10mm dynamic drivers. The 3D-printed chamber design naturally expresses the rich low-frequency sound produced by the two dynamic drivers, while preserving the unique sound of the BA driver.

The stainless steel parts and aluminum housings used in the body increase the durability of the product and suppress unnecessary vibrations to minimize noise and offer a secure fit so that users can enjoy a comfortable audio environment.

New custom dual balanced armature transducers feature clearer, more accurate expressions with TAEC (Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber) that expresses high frequencies without fatigue or sibilance through specially designed audio technology.

To create a higher quality acoustic performance and listening experience, new technology was required that previous products did not have.
Knowles' new "dual chamber" balanced armature driver, first used in the Pathfinder, is an innovative driver in which a single coil drives two individual diaphragms. It is like a two-cylinder engine, offering more power and smoother operation than one with a single, larger piston.

Compared to a traditional BA with a single larger diaphragm, the new design incorporates two chambers, each housing its own diaphragm and driving rod driven by a single coil, resulting in higher output and powerful for its size than any other BA and is excellent for expressing a warmer, more natural midrange.

Custom made beryllium copper MMCX connectors are more wear resistant than normal soft brass connectors, providing a robust mating mechanism.

The Pathfinder comes with three OFC oxygen-free silver-plated copper cables that allow the headphones to reach their full performance potential. The flat cable prevents tangles, can be rolled up for easy storage, and has minimal distortion.
