An intermediate model in the F Series, the F-05 uses a platform virtually identical to that of the F-03A, the main difference being the use of the AB-Class in its outgoing stage. Like its big brother, it integrates a number of refinements that place it at the top of the class of products available on the world market. This is the case with the shielded EI (grain oriented core) power supply transformer and the powerful capacitor bank that accompanies it, 8 in total - 4 per channel - with a capacity of 80,000 uF. Also the robust, independent amplifier modules for each channel are equipped with generous heat sinks which, in combination with the all-metal construction of the chassis, ensure effective dissipation of excess heat even under the most demanding operating conditions.
Separate printed circuit boards are used for the connectors for each channel, while the critical volume control has been entrusted to a system developed by Esoteric which goes by the acronym QVCS ("Quad Volume Control System") and consists of four precision ladder-mounted resistor networks, configured in such a way as to keep the signal paths for the left and right channels and their respective positive and negative phases separate. On the other hand, the control section is mounted on a printed circuit board completely separate from the preamplification section, in order to avoid potential influences on the audio circuitry.
As far as the power amplifier section is concerned, a 3-stage Darlington configuration (3 push-pulls in parallel) with bipolar transistors with high current delivery capability LAPT (Linear Amplified Power Transistor), identical to those used in the sensational Grandioso M1 power amplifiers, is used.
