It delivers perfectly balanced sound, with musical depth and clarity conveyed in every note.

Cambridge has developed the system by ear, testing every component and choosing only those that make a difference. This results in innovative arrangements that produce a much cleaner signal path for your music to sound its best. The Edge A seamlessly delivers the classic British Sound of the firm, with nothing added AND nothing missing.

Cambridge has pioneered the use of toroidal transformers in amplifiers to achieve better performance. With the Edge range it goes one step further, using dual toroidal transformers of opposing symmetry. This cancels out electromagnetic interference while delivering exceptional power and maintaining constant tonality, whatever the playback volume level.

Using standard Class A amplifier technology has not been efficient enough for the Edge A. Instead, Cambridge has added polarisation to a traditional Class AB design, reducing distortion so that it is inaudible to the human ear. In addition, this unique configuration produces less heat and makes the entire system much more efficient. Connect any Bluetooth device to the Edge A to easily play your music. With aptX HD support, you can play music at up to 24-bit/48kHz quality for the ultimate listening experience.

The Edge A is designed with a unique PCB (printed circuit board). Cambridge engineers replaced conventional capacitors with a DC-coupled topology and included a multiplying digital-to-analogue converter (MDAC). The aim has been to minimise interference in the signal path and ensure perfect channel balance at all volumes.
