A natural companion to the SA-10, the PM-10 is the best integrated amplifier ever produced by Marantz to the point of surpassing the Japanese firm's reference amplification system, the SC-7/MA-9 pre/stage set. Only now has available technology made it possible to achieve this, while preserving a purist, 100% analogue design that is completely balanced along the entire path of the audio signal, using a double monophonic construction with differential amplification that delivers nothing less than than 2 x 400 watts into 4 ohms. Even the continued interest in the vinyl record has, as with most Marantz amplifiers, a place in this new reference system: the PM-10 incorporates a phono stage compatible with moving coil (MC) capsules and meticulously designed moving magnet (MM), in whose execution only and exclusively discrete components are used. In the case of power supplies, the PM-10 mounts them separately for the preamplifier and each of the power amplification channels, in order to ensure that the delicate signals that pass through the preamplifier are not affected by the demands of the high power output stages. There is also a dedicated power supply for the microprocessor that controls volume level adjustment, input selection and similar functionality, to ensure that noise from the control section does not interfere with the audio signal. The circuit topology is completely balanced, from the input section to the power amplification section, while the preamplification section incorporates the famous Marantz Hyperdynamic Amplification Modules (HDAM). Let us finally highlight that the PM-10 incorporates the exclusive connection terminals for new generation Marantz SPKT-100+ loudspeakers, made of high-purity solid copper.
