A very high-performance “solid state” stereo receiver in the classic way that incorporates one of McIntosh 's legendary radio tuners with power amplification circuitry exclusive to the brand. This circuitry is equipped with the iconic Autoformer technology to ensure that its 200 continuous watts per channel are fully delivered whether the impedance of the associated speakers is 8, 4 or 2 ohms.

On the other hand, McIntosh 's exclusive MCT input allows for a secure DSD connection with any of the brand's CD/SACD transport mechanisms and optimizes the sound quality of SACDs. The MAC7200 also includes two of McIntosh 's exclusive Monogrammed Heatsinks to ensure perfect thermal stability of the advanced high-current, high-speed slew transistors in its output section, plus a high-current headphone amplifier. Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD), powerful electronic protection and two iconic elements of the American firm: the treated glass front panel and two elegant analogue meters with a blue background.
