The latest and most sophisticated of Pioneer 's stereo integrated amplifiers based on the exclusive “Direct Energy Design” concept uses a circuit topology executed with rigorously selected audiophile-grade components (including electrolytic capacitors developed by the Japanese brand in collaboration with the renowned firm Japanese ELNA) to obtain an extraordinarily high signal-to-noise ratio and thus create a spectacular sound field that is at the same time overflowing with naturalness.
The idea behind this philosophy is the “Direct Energy Concept”, whose goal is to achieve lossless energy transmission from the amplifier to the speakers. In engineering terms, this means that the A-40AE incorporates an optimized power supply and output circuitry, highlighting, in the case of the former, the use of separate windings for the power amplification, preamplification and control circuits with in order to maximize the purity of the signal sent to each one.
Likewise, the Pioneer adopts the new “Direct Energy Construction”, which allows the path traveled by the audio signal to be minimized and thus reduce the influence of the inductive component of the cables, resulting in exceptionally low background noise.
The A-40AE is completed with practical DAC functionality, decoupling feet designed to avoid standing waves, the “Direct Function” function and versatile connectivity which highlights the presence of non-magnetic terminals for connecting the speakers.
