The Nu-Vista 800.2 is an integrated stereo amplifier with exceptional power, clarity and musical finesse. Receiving modern new looks, a new display, and revised internals, the Nu-Vista 800.2 is everything the original 800 was and more.

The previous Nu-Vista 800 was an amplifier that enjoyed great popularity and was considered one of the best hybrid amplifiers, (tube and transistor), in recent years. Unfortunately, some must-have pieces were discontinued. The original "retro look" display was suddenly no longer in production, so we were left with one option: discontinue it and replace it with an updated version but unchanged as much as possible from the original formula.

The Nu-Vista 800.2 sounds incredible, it's silky smooth with huge transients and a natural feel that is both relaxing and enveloping. It's worth noting how the Nu-Vista 800.2 projects images between the speakers so you can almost touch them.

We have reworked the old Nu-Vista circuit by modernizing it, the first to include the locally decoupled output stage since we designed the legendary TITAN. This involved giving each output device a corresponding high current bulk supply capacitor. Mounting such a capacitor near each output transistor allows more immediate access to the stored energy, with a much lower impedance path to flow. This results in better transient response while providing an improved degree of ripple filtering at higher currents. Along with the supply capacitors located elsewhere, the main supply capacitors are located right on the rectifiers, which also reduces the supply impedance and helps keep rectification and hum away from the high-gain PA circuit.

The Nu-Vista 800.2 has a new modernized faceplate and a completely new display. It is in line with our new range of Nu-Vista products. We soon realized that we would have to upgrade the power supply circuits and electronic on/off control and control circuits to accommodate the new display. Fortunately, this meant we could also add the missing remote on/standby function as well.

And while we were at it, we rewound our transformers, for lower permanent flux, so they are less sensitive to mains DC offset noise. This means a slightly larger (and heavier) transformer that fortunately still fits into the same case.

The result is that we now have a new integrated hybrid, the Nu-Vista 800.2, which will visually fit into the new range of Nu-Vista products, keeping the audio parameters of the original intact, and even improving them in certain areas.

The mechanical construction of the Nu-Vista 800.2 is uncompromisingly rigid and solid in the typical Musical Fidelity tradition. The front panel and side panels are milled from extruded aluminum profiles and are extremely massive. The Nu-Vista 800.2 is basically immune to the effects of environmental vibrations. The same can be said for electromagnetic immunity. The massive aluminum chassis acts as a Faraday cage. It protects the internal electronics against external electromagnetic fields, and likewise, the rest of your HiFi equipment against the electromagnetic fields generated by the Nu-Vista 800.2.

Nuvistor tubes were invented in the 1950s to solve the many deficiencies of conventional vacuum tubes or valves, unlike them, Nuvistor tubes offer very high reliability, low microphonics, low noise, batch-to-batch consistency, size reduced and relatively low energy consumption.

Nuvistor tubes have already been used in other highly regarded electronic designs such as the Ampex MR-70, an expensive professional studio recorder, or in high-end microphones such as the AKG/Norelco C12a or the Neumann U47. This microphone was highly appreciated by studio engineers and used by many top recording artists such as Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, etc.
