The idea behind this versatile accessory is the proven fact that, as a general rule, the alternating signal present in the electrical network is subject to various types of interference and non-linear loads that distort it. In particular, asymmetric loads will cause drifts in the aforementioned alternating signal, the result being what is known as “direct current in the alternating electrical signal.” The magnitude of said direct current is small, of the order of 500 mV, but it must be known that a small amount of direct current is enough to saturate a modern high flux toroidal transformer, which will lead to a reduction in its efficiency and increased mechanical vibrations.
