As part of the legendary SPU Series, the SPU GTX S is a moving coil (MC) pick-up capsule incorporating a step-up transformer and glass-fibre reinforced housing, plus a spherical pick-up tip and a quadruple set of coils with high-purity copper windings.
The first distinguishing feature of this refined transducer is that it is handmade in Denmark by experienced professionals, a prerequisite for the incredible degree of precision in its physical execution and the extreme reliability that goes with it. Thus, its single-body housing is moulded from a glass-fibre reinforced copolymer which, to date, has never been used in SPU capsules.
This solution ensures a stable form factor, high rigidity and very low resonance for the enclosure housing the delicate signal generator. The bottom cover is also moulded from the same material, thus encapsulating the entire system in a uniform design and construction.
Furthermore, by housing a step-up transformer, developed in collaboration with the renowned specialist firm Lundahl, the SPU GTX S can be connected directly to any standard phono stage or amplifier as if it were a moving magnet capsule.
