Many large amplifiers have a really annoying mechanical hum emitted from the transformer itself. You can hear it when you place your ear close to the chassis. This is caused by a small amount of DC voltage in the mains reaching the mains transformer, becoming 'saturated' and starting to produce the annoying hum. The DC Blocker is a smart DC blocker that is placed on the IEC (at the rear power input of the amplifier or power stage) and, as the name suggests, prevents DC from entering the appliance, therefore, eliminates the problem, preserving EMI shielding against magnetic interference and without affecting the safety of the equipment. The larger the amplifier, generally the larger the transformer, which is susceptible to residual DC voltage, with the DC Blocker you can avoid this.
