The ECM 1 MKII is a network music player that, thanks to streaming software and a newly designed app, can play lossless high-resolution digital files in a way that allows the user to truly immerse themselves in their favorite music. This is a very flexible and easy-to-use digital source that reproduces sound directly from online music services such as Tidal, Spotify and Qobuz and that can be powered via AirPlay, DLNA or Bluetooth. Apart from including technical and sound improvements, it can also play any music collection stored on external drives connected to the network. On the other hand, the powerful hardware of the ECM 1 MKII supports the most popular digital audio encoding formats, while continuous software improvements allow the user to access the latest streaming services. The new Electrocompaniet also allows the 'plug & play' installation of 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA hard drives, also incorporating balanced analog outputs to facilitate its integration into high-level equipment.
