DALI's new Phantom E-WR series has been designed to offer great sound performance in extreme climate or high humidity environments.
The Danish manufacturer, which already has many models of built-in speakers at different price and quality levels in its product portfolio, incorporates with the WR models, the ideal option for bathrooms, indoor pools, spas, covered terraces, etc.
The new Phantom E-WR are robustly built to withstand temperatures from -20°C to +60°C and can withstand humidity levels of up to 100%. They also have an IP65 rating, which guarantees protection against indirect splashes of water, dust and sand.
On a technical level, the Phantom E-WR series incorporates a transducer designed by DALI with a waterproof polypropylene cone and natural rubber surround and has an 8-inch transducer. This configuration ensures minimal sound coloration, high structural rigidity and effective woofer damping. The result is a natural midrange without coloration; as well as deep and rich low frequency performance but without excess.
On the other hand, the Phantom E-80 WR incorporates a 25 mm textile dome tweeter, designed to offer an expanded high frequency response. The tweeter is housed in a forward-mounted decoupled unit to prevent coloration of bass/midrange vibrations, improving the clarity and detail of the high-frequency range.
This speaker offers an optimized acoustic design, with a 5° inclination of its drivers within the ceiling-mount chassis. This ensures precise acoustic dispersion directed towards the main listening area. This innovative design not only optimizes sound delivery, but also minimizes resonance of the drivers and baffle, thereby reducing distortion and further optimizing sound quality.
On the other hand, the Phantom E-WR series uses a passive crossover network, integrated at 3.3 kHz, which has been designed with the same attention to detail that the manufacturer puts into its "normal" speakers. This integration ensures a perfect mix of frequencies for a harmonious audio experience.
Designed from the ground up to ensure easy installation, the Phantom E-WR series features tilting clamps that secure tightly to plasterboard and require no special tools. Additionally, it offers mid and high frequency level adjustments to provide users with extensive configuration options for a wide variety of acoustic environments. That is, they are designed to offer great installation flexibility.
The new range of Dali WR loudspeakers offers improved environmental durability. It incorporates numerous improvements to offer maximum environmental resistance. These include a conformal-coated crossover, stainless steel retaining screws, epoxy-coated grille magnets, and moisture-resistant level adjustment switches.
