Compact and with an attractive modern, minimalist aesthetic, the Profono is a product that has been designed and built to be a genuine high-end phono preamp at a hyper-competitive price, yet capable of outperforming models twice as expensive in sound quality. Inside are carefully selected and impeccably assembled audiophile-grade materials and components, with refinements such as the use of several resistors in parallel to adjust the impedance of the pickup capsule used. Furthermore, in order to minimise noise and distortion, the Profono's power supply is housed in a separate chassis, with provision for upgrades to further increase performance. A switch on the rear panel allows selection between three settings for capsule gain: two for moving coil/MC designs (50 dB and 61 dB) and one for moving magnet/MM (41 dB).
