Built entirely from discrete components and featuring a fully balanced dual mono circuit topology, the Phono Box RS2 is Pro-Ject 's ultimate expression of phono preamplifiers. In addition, it uses passive equalization for the popular RIAA and Decca curves - a more expensive solution to design and implement but which ensures the most accurate representation of the ideal equalization curve possible, by providing better impedance matching and less deviation from the ideal version of the aforementioned curves. In addition, the Phono Box RS2 includes a versatile fundamental gain adjustment ranging from 40 dB (voltage amplification by a factor of 100) to 70 dB (voltage amplification by a factor of 3,690). A feature that adds to an extremely useful technical refinement exclusive to Pro-Ject : the continuous adjustment of the input impedance via a potentiometer that allows the user to immediately assess the impact of the different loading options. Featuring balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs and mounted in a steel chassis with aluminium panels to maximise its rigidity and isolation from external interference, the Phono Box RS2 also provides the possibility of being upgraded by the addition of the Power Box RS Uni 1-way external linear power supply.
