A new expression of the profound remodelling that the legendary Norwegian company Electrocompaniet is subjecting all models of its iconic Classic Line, the ECP 2 MKII is a very high-performance phono preamplifier with balanced and unbalanced line outputs, aimed at those who want to take the musicality of vinyl records to its ultimate consequences. But what really sets this refined electronics apart is that it has been designed to accommodate any combination of pickup capsule and connecting cable thanks to the enormous configuration flexibility offered by its input stage. A flexibility that is made clear by the large number of settings available, allowing the user to select the most appropriate resistive load, capacitive load and gain configuration for optimum sound, regardless of the pick-up cartridge in his or her system. Another significant aspect ofElectrocompaniet's new phono preamplifier is that it strictly follows the RIAA equalisation curve, to which an abrupt cut-off subwoofer filter must be added to eliminate potentially harmful signals.
