The Astell & Kern Ultima SP2000T is inspired by the firm's previous flagship, the SP2000, building on many of the premium features of the SP2000 and adding new features never before seen on other Astell & Kern players.
New features debuting for the first time in the line of portable players including Astell & Kern's new Quad -DAC technology, a new triple amplifier and playback gain system. The SP2000T is Astell & Kern's first Quad -DAC player , which features four ESS ES9068AS DAC chips, allowing it to produce a more balanced and detailed sound. Hardware MQA rendering is built into the ES9068AS DACs and supports 8x MQA rendering.
Another novelty, the SP2000T introduces Astell & Kern's latest generation amplification technology, the triple amplification system. Users can select between tube amp mode, normal op-amps mode, or the new hybrid amp mode that uses both tube amps and op-amps to provide the best sound output for the type of music. that is being heard.
All three modes are available when using the 2.5mm, 3.5mm or 4.4mm outputs. Rounding out the SP2000T's new features is the Replay Gain function, which allows the player to automatically adjust the volume between tracks and maintain a constant playback level.
