Rotel 's new RMB1587MKII 7-channel power amplifier continues our legacy of making high-power amplifiers for perfectionists for multi-channel systems. Following Rotel 's updated MKII design architecture, the RMB-1587MKII incorporates significant improvements to both circuitry and components in the power supply and output section to deliver extremely low distortion, effective signal isolation and superior performance. High gain output power efficiently packaged in a single multi-channel chassis.
The RMB-1587MKII's Class AB amplification circuitry is built around two massive, in-house built high-current toroidal transformers designed to supply ultra-stable current to a set of 8 high-efficiency energy storage capacitors. The use of this architecture in the power supply provides rich, deep bass with the ultimate in authority and control even when using particularly more demanding speakers.
Unlike multi-channel power amplifiers whose output drops when multiple channels are driven simultaneously, the RMB-1587MKII powers its 7 Class AB amplification channels with 155 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Furthermore, this opulent amplifier delivers 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms with all channels driven and is even capable of delivering a staggering 335 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohm speakers when set to stereo.
In order to optimize its cooling, the RMB1587MKII is equipped with 4 ultra-quiet variable speed fans controlled by thermostat. The RMB-1587MKII is specially designed for custom installations. Convenient balanced XLR and auto-switching RCA inputs ensure compatibility with the preamp outputs of any A/V processor or receiver, while a 12V trigger input and output provide simplified start-up control. Likewise, hardware is available for mounting in standard 19" racks.
