Moon 820S is the long-awaited power supply that provides an upgrade for some Evolution series models. Equipped with two output sets, it is capable of simultaneously powering the following equipment: - 740P preamplifier. - DAC converters with CD transport 650D and 750D. - Phono preamps 610LP and 810LP.

Each output provides DC power for the analog circuitry (audio) and digital circuitry (controller transport, CD, front panel) via 2 independent, single XLR type cables. Designed to further elevate the performance of a series of products that already perform stratospherically in their price segments, Moon 820S was created through painstaking research and development, creative ingenuity and a passion for perfection.

Characteristics:

  • Two toroidal transformers of Moon own design with minimal magnetic, electrical and thermal loss, producing improved power transfer and a lower regulation factor. The result is higher current speed and better power dynamics for each of the analog and digital sources.
  • Special “pi-type” filters (2 for each digital and analog source) located after the initial voltage rectification stage using 40,000 uF of capacitance and inductance per double inductor (2 x 20 mH).
  • Each of the analog and digital sources has 4 M-R2S circuit stages: A circuit with fully discrete voltage regulation thanks to "reference precision" feeding an amplifier through numerous integrated circuits and transistors, as opposed to a Unique voltage regulation chip.
  • M-R2S pure DC power outputs are exceptionally fast, accurate, with virtually no noise and completely stable voltage.
  • 4-layer printed circuit boards with extremely low impedance pure copper traces with much shorter signal paths and drastically reduced noise levels.
  • Ultra rigid chassis capable of minimizing the effects of external vibrations.
  • Precise fitment of supreme quality electronic components on a symmetrical circuit design.
