The new ultra-compact Pre Box S2 Digital stereo preamplifier is a product that offers high-class technical solutions at an unmistakably democratic price. This is first of all confirmed by a D/A conversion section which, thanks to the use of two D/A converters from ESS Technology's elite SABRE range, produces a sound that is as warm and captivating as it is clean, transparent and brimming with information.

Specifically, the SABRE ESS9038Q2M D/A converter is a very high-performance 32-bit device incorporating ESS Technology's unique Hyperstream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Elimination circuitry. The Pre Box S2 Digital is also the first product from Pro-Ject to support hardware support for the Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) encoding scheme, which promises a superior audio experience from files that are smaller in size and therefore much easier to stream or download. As a state-of-the-art digital component, the Pre Box S2 Digital is ready to reproduce the most demanding hi-res of the moment, while incorporating very high quality digital and analogue components and an all-metal, anti-resonant enclosure.
