The 740P preamplifier is a fully balanced differential dual-mono design preamplifier, following in the footsteps of the 850P reference preamplifier. This “next generation” Evolution preamplifier series uses several elements based on newly developed technologies that help create a level of performance that can be described as highly astonishing.

- 4 stages of our M-LoVo ( Moon Low Voltage) DC regulation circuit, based on a highly sophisticated, virtually noise-free circuit, capable of producing an exceptionally fast, accurate and stable DC voltage. The result is a power supply with minimal noise.
- Large dual mono power supply with 2 toroidal transformers in conjunction with 5 stages of DC voltage regulation. - M-eVOL2 volume control circuit with MDAC (operating in a current R-2R address configuration), capable of altering the amplitude of the audio signal, without producing a degradation of the sonic signal, regardless of the volume setting selected.
- Power Supply Voltage Regulation i2DCF (Independent Inductive DC Filtering): This is a dedicated inductor in each of the components integrated in the circuit (DAC, Op-Amp, etc.) during the signal path of the circuit. 24 stages in total.
- "User-selectable" M-Lock volume lock adjustment and ±10 dB gain selection for each line input.
- RS-232 port for two-way feedback and firmware updates.
- Infrared ray input for external control.

- Simlink™ controller port for 2-way communications with other compatible Moon components.
