Turntable with phono preamp
Version of the E1 with built-in phono preamp. The E1 takes advantage of the powerful economies of scale that the world's number one turntable manufacturer can afford, which means it is equipped with components and materials that are absolutely impossible to find in similarly priced realisations. The first element of note is a sleek fibre composite plinth manufactured with computer-aided tooling (CNC) to avoid the presence of any hollow spaces in the plinth. Equal care has been taken with the three available finishes to ensure that they blend seamlessly into any space. The tone arm is an 8.6" (218.5 mm) model combining low mass and low friction that has been optimised to extract the full potential of the OM5e pick-up capsule Ortofon fitted as standard. As for the platter itself, it is made of new-generation ABS polymer reinforced with dedicated bridges to create an anti-resonant platform ideal for vinyl playback. Also, let us point out that the DC motor is carefully damped to prevent the transmission of vibrations likely to affect the pick-up capsule.
