The Thorens TD204 was developed for new audiophiles who want to start or regain their love of vinyl.
The black or walnut lacquered finishes fit perfectly into the existing range with the typical Thorens design. The brand identity is highlighted by the high quality of processing and guarantees a long life like all Thorens turntables.
The newly developed TP120 arm impresses with its high-quality bearing technology. The bearing clearance and friction coefficients could be reduced to an astonishingly low level for the price class by using modern bearings. The TP120 is a 9" J-shaped real aluminum tonearm with an effective tonearm mass of 15 grams. The visual similarity to the larger TP150 and TP124 models is obvious and promises first-class properties.
The detachable head with SME connector is fitted with an AT95E from Japanese cartridge specialist Audio Technica. Slip compensation is done by a spring.
The connection terminal on the back displays high-quality RCA jacks for a solid connection to the amplifier. An integrated MM phono preamplifier (switchable on/off) allows direct connection to a high-level line input.
The platter, precision manufactured from die-cast aluminum, is set into rotation by a precision drive belt. The TD204's plinth rests on four vibration-damping feet.
