The Carbon Special Edition is a special edition subwoofer integrated into REL's elite Reference Line, combining the most advanced technology with dedicated state-of-the-art components in a medium-sized chassis, thus exhibiting relatively compact dimensions. It mounts a third-generation BlackWidow woofer with a 305 mm (12”) carbon fiber cone and improved suspension exclusive to the British firm, designed to emit frontally and make excursions 50% greater than those of previous models. This speaker is complemented by a custom-made CSP passive speaker to ensure even greater authority in reproducing the lower octaves of the spectrum. Regarding amplification electronics, the Carbon Special Edition includes one of the British firm's celebrated NextGen switching amplifiers, specifically a fifth generation model capable of delivering a power of 1,000 continuous watts. Controlling the active transducer are the innovative PerfectFilters, designed to take bass reproduction in mid-size subwoofers to a new level, while introducing subtle improvements to the upper limit of amplification power for a soundstage. more transparency and greater clarity in the overall benefits of the system. Like the rest of the models in REL's Reference Line, the Carbon Special Edition can be part of a vertical configuration with a maximum of three subwoofers.
