Stylish in appearance, ultra-compact in size and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the Abyss 8 is a sophisticated active subwoofer that has been designed to exhibit excellent performance in classical stereo, multi-channel sound, home theatre and all types of custom installations.
It uses a Vojtko DSP platform with 500 Hz operation and 64-bit arithmetic and incorporates a powerful 500 watt continuous MartinLogan Magnitude amplifier. In terms of acoustic configuration, it combines an active speaker with 203 mm (8") aluminium cone and two passive speakers with the same characteristics arranged on the side panels of the enclosure, fully sealed and constructed in 2.54 mm thick MDF to provide extreme definition and impact in the most demanding applications.
The Abyss 8 also features integrated anti-vibration feet to improve dynamics by reducing the transfer of vibrations to adjacent rooms. Particularly generous is the connectivity available, with RCA and XLR LFE, stereo inputs with RCA and high level connectors, plus a subwoofer output and wireless receiver/transmitter.
The Abyss 8 is rounded off by management via MartinLogan's Subwoofer Control app and compatibility with the award-winning Anthem Room Correction (ARC) optimisation system.
