The 240H, designed at JBL's renowned Acoustic Engineering Center of Excellence in Northridge, California, USA, is a compact and highly flexible multi-function loudspeaker in the Stage 2 line.
With the flip of a switch, it can be configured as a Dolby Atmos-enabled add-on, or as a wall-mounted surround or elevation speaker. The 240H loudspeaker features 2-way with state-of-the-art High-Definition Imaging (HDI) proprietary waveguide geometry, 25mm anodised aluminium dome tweeter and 114mm poly-cellulose ribbed cone speaker.
The Dolby Atmos-compatible 240H height modules are equipped with the same speaker and horn as the 240B bookshelf model. They are easily connected via the connectors at the top rear of the Stage 280F and Stage 260F floor-standing models, or with a surround channel that can be mounted on the wall or ceiling.
Each Stage 2 Series loudspeaker features poly-cellulose ribbed cone speakers. The pure pulp cone has a proprietary blend of other materials added to enhance its rigidity, and the ribbed details are reminiscent of legendary JBL designs. These speakers produce deep, accurate bass that floods the room.
After studying previous waveguide designs in depth, JBL has developed a complex new geometry that improves directivity, reduced diffraction and an overall neutral frequency response both on- and off-axis. The Stage 2 HDI is coupled with an anodised aluminium dome tweeter for improved efficiency and dynamics. This new design provides a neutral frequency response both on- and off-axis.
The crossover filters installed in the Stage 2 line are made from premium components. The high-frequency section features air-core inductors and mylar capacitors that reduce distortion and improve sonic performance. The low-frequency section includes laminated core inductors and electrolytic capacitors. These premium materials can handle more power and transmit energy faster, boosting system performance.
