As an absolute reference product, the new Pro-Ject represents, by adopting the tried and tested belt drive principle, the ultimate in technology, materials and workmanship, to the point of being entirely handmade by the brand's top professionals. To get an idea of the level of demand involved, suffice it to say that all the metal parts, more than 100 of them CNC-machined, are produced in the company's Central European facilities and polished by hand, taking no less than 2 days to complete each Signature unit 12.2.

Getting into the details of this fabulous machine destined to push the possibilities of the dean of analogue audio formats to the limit, the use of a high-mass MDF chassis, rounded corners free of hollow spaces and a luxurious finish that requires no less than 10 coats of paint. Added to this is the presence of a subframe, which is common in lightweight turntables but can also be extraordinarily useful in massive designs.

Another key element, the playback arm, has also been given exceptional care, going from being unipivotal to incorporating a 3-point pivoting scheme whose precise alignment allows for additional friction reduction and improved stability. This absolute reference vinyl reader comes complete with sturdy adjustable support feet that combine tapered tips with high precision springs and achieve virtually perfect decoupling
