A direct consequence of the great commercial success of the stylish E-Flat turntable, the C-Sharp raises the bar even further in terms of ultra-slim profile, aesthetic elegance and technological sophistication thanks to the use of new materials, such as carbon fiber and rubber or thermoplastic elastomers (a highly absorbent material that is also known by the acronym TPE). Thus, the motor – a design with extremely low operating noise – is mounted inside an ultra-thin chassis made of very high-density MDF, to which are added 10 sophisticated thermoplastic elastomer absorbent feet.
On the other hand, the conical TPE columns support a sandwich structure subframe that combines carbon fiber and MDF to constitute the ultimate in rigidity, the latter parameter of fundamental importance in a reference turntable. In this way, any possible vibration of the plate/shaft assembly is sent to the TPE columns, which, in turn, prevents any unwanted energy from the motor or the surrounding environment (a vibration of acoustic origin, for example) from reaching the the subframe or even the delicate arm/capsule assembly. Regarding the crucial rotation system, the C-Sharp incorporates an oversized shaft combined with an acoustically inert and resonance-free ceramic bearing in its upper part.
This configuration, again, allows establishing a robust mass point in order to absorb all the excess energy present in the surroundings of the assembly. For its part, the plate is made of a special combination of highly inert aluminum and TPE absorption elements inserted into it. Of the new EAT reference turntable, it should also be noted that it uses a special antistatic rubber belt, as well as an absolutely innovative tonearm that combines all the advantages of a unipivot type with those of a gimbal type. Regarding the arm of the C-Sharp, it should be noted that it is made of carbon fiber - which provides it with high robustness and high rigidity in equal parts -, while the cartridge holder uses a type of especially light and rigid aluminum, which allows combining the advantages of carbon with the better internal damping of aluminum, as well as facilitating optimal mounting of the most delicate pickup capsules.
Finally, let us point out that the C-Sharp is accompanied by an external direct current power supply based on an alternating current generator, which allows maximizing the cleanliness of the signal sent to the motors. Likewise, the available rotation speeds - 33 and 45 rpm - are selected electronically from a separate control panel.
